Relationship With Jesus

Married:

Gen 2:24-Married couples are meant to be unified in every way possible

Therefore, shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh.

Proverbs 18:22- Favor from the Lord

He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.

Mark 10:6-9- What God has joined together, let no man separate.

But form the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. Therefore, a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So, they are no longer two but one flesh.

What God has joined together let no man separate.

Simply Put:
That is exactly the way God sees you, He married us a long time ago when He married His church (speaking metaphorically). You have each other so you are never alone no what life throws at you. He is with you talking and walking with you, counselling you, healing you when your sick, making sure you have what you need all of the time and making sure you are never alone. It is a beautiful relationship and it is a good thing. Keep up the good work He is watching you and His shield of protection surrounds you.

Separated:

I Corin 7:10 – To the married, I the Lord give this command: A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.

Simply Put:
When God married the church they became as one and you are all  a part of that body, being separated from God is in comparision as being separated from your husband, or your best friend, ladies. And for men is in comparison from being separated from your wife, because we are supposed to love our wives with the same love God has for the church. When you separate from him you let go of your blessings, protection and spiritual support. Think about it, is life going well for you right now? Part of that reason is because He wants you to unite with Him so He can fix it. He loves to show off his love for us but He cannot because you left Him and He wants you back.

Single:

I Corinthians: 7:32-35

But he who is unmarried cares about the things of the Lord-how he may please the Lord. There is a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord that she may be Holy both in body and in spirit.

But she who is married cares about the things of the world-How she may please her husband.

And this I say for your own profit, not that I may put a leash on you, but for what is proper, and that you may serve the lord without distraction.

Hosea 2:19-20- You are betrothed to God

I will betroth you to me forever, I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love & compassion.

Simply Put:
Because you are single the Lord sees that as opportunity to spend more time with Him, in prayer and in His scriptures. Giving yourself to only him in body and spirit, this is pleasing to the Lord. However, if this is difficult for you (and your not alone in feeling this way) He would rather you marry than to be single and caught up  in temptations that  defiles your body and can result in different lovers.  He would rather you give yourself to a husband in marriage, because the marriage bed is undefiled.

Divorced:

Malachi 2:16 – “For I hate divorce says the Lord the God of Israel, and covering one’s garment with violence, says the Lord of Hosts. So, take heed to yourselves and do not be faithless.”

Matt 5:32 – God created marriage as the perfect union between men and women so they could raise a family.

This is a covenant for life and should not be entered into lightly, with divorce as an option. Divorce is considered under certain exceptional circumstances.

Simply Put:
Your in trouble, but you can still fix it. Salvation is free and for everyone until the day He returns, and he is such a forgiving God, this is an easy relationship to fix because His arms are always open. But be careful for no one knows the time or day of His arrival not even His angels. Don’t get caught up in the world, and your problems. That is what happens when we divorce ourselves from Him. We cut Him out and the devil walks in with only one purpose in mind and that is to destroy us.  It’s time to start patching up your relationship with God.
